A more sustainable world one neighborhood at a time
We believe in neighborhoods where people meet, share and care for each other. Communities where sustainability isn't just a project, but is a natural part of every day. Where technology makes life simpler and increases togetherness. Heime creates measurable results for people and their surroundings, and it all starts with something so simple as being a good neighbor.
Heime strengthens community and limits loneliness
In 2024 over one million Norwegians lived alone according to SSB. That amounts to almost one out of five, and that number is rising. Loneliness is one of the biggest challenges of the times. It affects people in all age-brackets. Heime is here to do something about that.
We make it easier to meet up digitally and physically
In Heime a resident can easily create and participate in social activities and get to know their neighbors. We've seen group-walks in the forest, movie-nights in the common room, and in many neighborhoods Heime arranges courses, workshops and activities to further strengthen bonds between residents. When the barrier to connecting is lowered, it enriches everyday life. We believe in neighborhoods where people see one another, help one another, and feel at home beyond their own four walls.
Quantifiable social effect
Heime has a unique position because we can measure actual activity, sharing and interaction in a neighborhood. This means that projects that use Heime can prove actual social sustainability in a quantifiable and concrete way, not just nice words, but through real numbers and actions.

Sharing that reduces resource spending
Sharing is great for the environment, and Heime makes sharing a breeze. Many Heime-projects build a common sharing-room where tools and recreational articles are owned together. Through the app one can reserve what one needs, exactly when one needs it. There's simply no need for everyone to own their own drill, step-ladder, garage jack, sledge, kayyak and lawn-mower. When more people share tools, we spend less resources, reducing waste and saving money and space.
Reducing environmental waste
In projects with car- and bike-sharing, many people choose to give up their own car, or a second car. Private car ownership is both one of the largest emissions and one of the largest costs in common Norwegian households. Heime makes it easy to see when a car or bike is available, reserve it with a click and use what you need without having to own it yourself. The result is lower emissions, lower costs and a more sustainable everyday life for residents.

Social sustainability and UN's sustainable development goals
In the end, all this is about quality of life. When people meet, share and build relations, it's effects reach much farther than just a nice moment. That is the reason that Heime's work directly contribute towards many of UN's sustainable development goals.
Goal 3: Good health and well-being
We strengthen psychological health through community, belonging and lowering barriers for social contact. Neighborhoods where poeple know each other are safer, more wholesome and inlcuding.
Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities
Heime makes it easier to create inclusive, safe, and resilient neighborhoods. We facilitate participation, interaction, and great meeting places—both digital and physical.
Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
By enabling the sharing of equipment, spaces, cars, and other resources, Heime helps reduce waste, lower consumption, and increase reuse in everyday life. When more people can use the same equipment instead of buying new, it strengthens a more circular economy and reduces the need for unnecessary purchases.
