Privacy policy and terms of use for Heime

Heime processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation (GDPR and Norwegian law). We only collect data that is necessary to deliver the service, and you have control over what is shared with your neighbors.

Privacy policy

Heime Proptech AS provides a digital platform for safe and connected neighbourhoods.
The app you are using is part of this platform.
Heime Proptech AS is the data controller for personal data processed in the Heime platform.

Personal data we process

We process the following personal data about you:

  • Phone number
  • Name
  • Email address
  • Residential address
  • Date of birth
  • Profile picture you have uploaded
  • Your activity within the platform

If necessary, we may also collect technical information from your device. This is used only for troubleshooting and stored for a maximum of 90 days.

Visibility to other users

You can choose to hide your date of birth, email, and phone number from neighbours in the app settings.
This information will still be available to Heime and the housing association administrators.

Purpose of processing

We process personal data to:

  • create and manage your user account and login
  • show relevant information to neighbours and support sharing and communication
  • manage payments and issue receipts
  • ensure stable operation and troubleshoot errors

Where we get the personal data from

Most data is collected directly from you.
In some cases, we receive certain information (e.g. name and address) from the developer, housing association or property manager to create your access.
We may also verify the information using the Norwegian Cadastre (Kartverket).

Legal basis

  • Contract: to provide the service to you and your housing association
  • Legitimate interest: to ensure secure and stable operation
  • Legal obligation: related to payments and bookkeeping

Storage period

Personal data is stored as long as you live in the housing association and use the service.
Some information may be kept after you move out to support necessary documentation for the housing association. This is only accessible to administrators.
You can request deletion of your data, but payment-related information must be stored for up to 5 years after the last transaction in accordance with accounting legislation.
If necessary information is not provided, we cannot deliver the service.

Recipients and international transfers

Some of our data processors may be located outside the EU/EEA.
Any transfers are carried out only with valid transfer mechanisms in accordance with data protection regulations.

Data processors:

  • Front Software AS – platform hosting (data stored in Norway)
  • Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) – error logging (data stored in the USA under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework)
  • Amazon Web Services, Inc. – email, SMS, notifications and image storage (data stored within the EU)
  • Amplitude, Inc. – pseudonymised usage analytics (data stored within the EU)

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, deletion, restriction, data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
You may also file a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority if you believe your rights have been violated: www.datatilsynet.no
